Louis Schendl is Founder and Managing Partner of Mesquite Captive. Over the past 10 years, he has focused on implementing risk management best practices for small and mid-size markets, with emerging captive markets and new financial strategies as a primary practice. Today, in addition to Mesquite Captive, he develops innovative captive initiatives. Also, he is founding partner and past board member of the Texas Captive Insurance Association. Operating in the domains of health, manufacturing, agriculture, oil and gas, and emerging markets, the captive firms he has established serve small- to mid-size businesses with the strategy and benefits of captive risk management realized by Fortune 1,000 firms. He received his BA from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and completed his M.I.T. Sloan Executive Management Program in 1997.
Timothy Condon, Mesquite Captive’s Managing Director, has over 20 years’ experience assessing and solving Human Capital risk management challenges. He has held Vice President, Senior Vice President, President and CEO roles in large family office enterprises. Tim recognized through his experience working in a traditional planning environment that there was a definitive need in the marketplace for creative options for high net worth families. He spends most of his efforts consulting with clients and their advisors in maximizing the benefits of our various strategies in risk and financial planning. Tim works with CPA, Financial Advisors, and Insurance Brokers and Attorneys to ensure best practices and highest quality implementations of Captive Insurance companies. He received his BA from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa in 1987.
Brent R. De Noble, Mesquite Captive’s Senior Sales and Marketing Director, grew up in the insurance industry. His family ran a successful P & C insurance agency. Brent brings over 30 years of sales and marketing experience with both private and institutional companies in the commercial and industrial real estate industry. He has managed and owned businesses throughout his career and utilizes his vast network of business and personal contacts to uncover Captive insurance opportunities for his clients. Brent received his BBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He holds a P & C Producer license, Health & Life Producer license, and a Managing Broker license.
Philip J. Tortorich is Mesquite’s Senior Attorney and a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman’s Chicago headquarters, where he serves as head of the firm’s Captive Insurance practice. He advises wealthy individuals and closely held companies on the creation and management of captive insurance programs. He worked in the captive insurance space for over a decade and is one of only a few attorneys who handle both the income tax and estate and gift tax aspects of captive insurance programs for closely held middle market businesses. He has written articles on such topics as: Funding Revocable Trusts with Real Estate, Joint Revocable Trusts, Trustee Liability Issues and other estate and gift tax issues which have been published in periodicals including Trusts and Estates. He received his JD, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he served as managing editor of the Consumer Law Review. He received his B.A. from Loyola University Chicago.
